‘He Was Loved’: Family Remembers Giovanni Zambrano, 22, Missing Man Found Dead In PA Woods

Giovanni Zambrano was more than just a name on a missing person’s alert—he was a hardworking young man, a dedicated gamer, and a beloved brother in a family of seven. His aunt, Aura Santos, shared memories of the 22-year-old after his remains were found in a wooded area of Allentown earlier this week.

Zambrano, a graduate of William Allen High School, was remembered as a "shy and sweet kid" who took pride in showing up to work on time and had considered going to college. "He just didn’t see a way out of his emotional problems and couldn’t see a way out," Santos said.

She recalled how much her family loved him and wished he had known the depth of their care before his passing. "Mental health is a serious matter, and oftentimes, individuals refuse to get the help they need because they don’t want to be labeled as weak," she said.

Though she lived in New York and didn’t see him often, she keeps his high school ID in her cubicle as a reminder of the nephew she misses deeply. "I wish I could’ve done more," she said.

Zambrano had been missing since August 2024 before his remains were found on Sumner Avenue. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity on Thursday, March 6.

Born in Austin, Texas, on Nov. 23, 2002, Zambrano was the son of Nancy Yolivet, according to his obituary. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Judd-Beville Funeral Home in Allentown.

Loved ones wishing to honor his memory can send flowers or plant a tree through the funeral home’s floral store.
